Leading Multinational Textile Company

Project Description:
Synergy Development developed an Enterprise application for a Leading Multinational Textile Company. The system was originally deployed in 2000 with a PowerBuilder 6.0 baseline and a Microsoft SQL Server 6.0 database. This same system has since been modified and migrated to the latest versions of the software suites and had more functionality added to it. The application is currently a PowerBuilder 8.0 application with a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database. It implements PowerBuilder's Foundation Classes and SQL Server's stored procedures. This application is fully integerated with the company's SBT accounting system, UPS Worldship, and FedEx Shipping software using ODBC interfaces. The textile company's system handles quotes, sampling, orders, manufacturing, and inventory control. The system is currently being upgraded once again to use wireless scanners and barcoding for everything from reading production sheets to packing and shipping all merchandise. This system will eventually provide for customer access via the Internet. Customers will have the ability to check on their order status or receive shipping and order progress updates by E-mail via the SQL-Exchange server.
